Exercise 7: Dialogue
[splashcast YFQO9330XA]
Voice:
Mom: “Where the hell did you go huh? Why are you off from work so late? I prepared dinner for you liao.”
Dad: “I went for a drink with Ah Lim and his group of friends la.”
Mom: “oh okay lo. You still hungry anot? Dinner ready liao.”
Dad: “ Orh okay okay, I makan later. Pank You.”
At first I want to criticize this assignment for being too short. However, after reading it, the assignment feels complete. You’re indicating it’s unlikely missing dinner would lead to a complete collapse in the marriage, and it really isn’t such a big deal. That’s valid, but it negates what we’re looking for in dialogue, which is that we reveal our characters by clueing our audiences in to what they want.
oh alright, i get what you mean. thanks ryan.
btw eugene helped me with the coding of the dialogue, so that explains why there are two selections.
mine is the first dialogue. please rmb to grade this too!
